First Look: Citroën 2 CV Fourgonnette teases the retro hatch’s commercial cousin

Citroën presented the 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show in October, and we got a chance to check out the electric LCV study that reinterprets the iconic 2 CV Fourgonnette with a contemporary design.

    Design

The LCV version of the 2 CV concept was created by Citroën’s designers as a passion project, to reimagine the original van for today’s needs.

Seeing the Citroën 2CV Fourgonnette concept in person, I particularly liked its retro-inspired wheels, stepped roof and rear barn-style doors. These details give the little van plenty of character. The ribbed body panels also help break up the visual mass of the taller cargo section.

From my walkaround, the styling appears closely related to the passenger version up to the front doors. The almost nonexistent front overhang makes the nose look especially compact, while the raised roof gives it a distinctly different profile.

I felt the concept offers a modern take on the original van’s instantly recognisable silhouette, retaining the 2 CV’s functionality.

    Interior

Inside, I noted two individual seats. I also spotted the charging port just behind the front passenger-side door.

For me, the most appealing aspect is how the design carries the 2CV’s familiar character into a small delivery van.

The concept carries forward the original model’s emphasis on ease of use and accessible mobility.

While the concept is not intended to preview a production model in the near future, it shows how the original 2 CV Fourgonnette’s spirit can inspire a contemporary electric delivery van.
